The blade is German 4116 stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant steel chosen for exactly this job. It handles wet conditions, sharpens fast and holds a working edge without needing to be fussed over. On top of that, every ShoreGuard blade gets a transparent titanium coating that adds another layer of protection while keeping the clean stainless look. Rinse it with fresh water and dry it after a day on salt water and it will stay that way.
The handle is molded polypropylene with a rubberized TPR grip. Pronounced finger grooves, a large front guard and textured contact points along the spine keep the knife locked in your hand whether it is bone dry or soaked. Control matters most when your hands are wet, and that is what this handle was built around.
Every ShoreGuard ships with a close-fitting molded sheath that snaps the knife in with real retention and carries on an integrated belt clip.

German 4116 is a stainless steel with a well-earned reputation in knives that live in wet environments. It was picked for the ShoreGuard because it delivers the balance that matters around water: strong corrosion resistance, good toughness and an edge that comes back fast on a stone or a pull-through sharpener. It is not a super steel and it is not pretending to be one. It is the right steel for a knife that gets splashed, rinsed, tossed in a tackle box and pulled out again next weekend. The transparent titanium coating adds an extra protective layer over the steel without changing its clean stainless appearance. Corrosion resistant is not the same as rustproof, so after salt water give it a quick fresh water rinse and dry it off. At 2.33 mm thick, the blade is built to slice, not pry, which is exactly what line, rope, bait and camp food call for. The OD Green / Black keeps it simple with a clip point and a plain edge: clean cuts on line, rope and bait, nothing to snag, and easy to touch up.
A knife you use around water needs a handle you can trust when everything is slick.
