Who We Are...
Off-Grid Knives® is a family owned, American business, offering high quality knives at affordable prices. We offer tough, overbuilt, hard-use EDC folders and fixed blade knives. We use high quality materials without busting your wallet. Designing our knives 'in-house' and having close relationships with our knife makers, we shave the cost and save you some hard earned cash. In addition, being a smaller company means less overhead and we pass the savings to you. Using the Amazon model, we have partnered with fulfillment warehouses all over the country to ship our knives quickly and efficiently with FREE 2-Day shipping on all orders. Our offices are in Thousand Oaks, California.
Our goal is to add value to YOUR knife collection, when you buy an OGK blade we want you to say, "this feels like a knife twice the cost", and as of now this is what we're hearing from all the OGK knife-nuts out there. Reviews from our customers compare our knives to Benchmade, Zero Tolerance, Spyderco, Kershaw, CRKT, SOG and other big companies. The bottom line is we're doing our best to continue to create high-quality knives with the highest fit and finish as possible and hit multiple price points. Some knife buyers want and will pay for M390 and Titanium, others are happy with AUS8 with G10 at a lower cost, we offer both so we can take care of the different wants, needs and price points for all types of knife collectors. (See 'Where are your Knives Made' below for more detail.)
You buy from Off-Grid Knives, you're treated like Family. We offer old school customer service, 24/7 we're here for you. Problem? We've got your back 100% ALWAYS. You buy an OGK product, you're locked into a Lifetime Replacement Guarantee!
On a personal note, I've always wanted to design knives and own a knife company. In 2016 I dropped everything, quit my day job and started Off-Grid Knives. (Let's just say my wife Vera thought I was nuts.) I've been collecting knives ever since my first Swiss Army Knife was given to me at 8 years old by my Uncle Larry, a badass US Marine. I'd spend hours tinkering with every shiny blade and tool, seeing the different designs and different uses for each one...I was hooked. If you're reading this, you're a 'knife-nut' just like me and all of us at Off-Grid Knives will continue to produce high quality fit & finish EDC knives that you can kick the crap out of and come back for more, AND give you as much value as possible. My wife and kids are very much involved in the business as well, and we're planning on growing OGK with hard work, attention to detail, and focus on YOU as the driving force for our business.
Off-Grid Knives proudly contributes profits to Homes for Our Troops, we support the Second Amendment, US Military, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Paramedics, EMT's and the President of the United States. If you're any of these, (including the President), we offer a discount for you.
Thank you to all our awesome, smart and passionate customers...if you're not an OGK customer yet, what are you waiting for? Give Off-Grid Knives a shot and we're confident you'll be a happy camper...guaranteed!
Where are your knives made? ("Quality is about effort rather than geography.")
Ninety percent of our knives are made in Taiwan and the other ten percent in China. We teamed with the WE Knife Company for example who made our ELITE SERIES Black Mamba and Scorpion knives. We've attempted to produce high quality affordable knives here in the USA, but it's unfortunately not possible in order to meet our price points for the customer and quantity needed. We thoroughly vetted the companies we teamed with, sampled and tested all our products prior to partnering with them. I've personally met each owner and we have become very close which helps on all levels of high quality knife making and business in general. These are the same production companies used by the big names you know well and likely already own. We chose our manufacturers because they use the same techniques as the larger US companies, and use the latest technology and materials, such as CNC Machining (Computer Numerical Controlled) and cryogenic treatments.
The gap between the $300-$400 knives and the lower price range knives have closed dramatically. You may know by now, the level of quality and competition in Asia has gone way up over the last 5-10 years. We understand if you're a 'USA only' knife buyer, but give Off-Grid Knives a shot and we're confident you'll be pleasantly surprised. We offer a money back guarantee AND a Lifetime Replacement Guarantee with registration. You have nothing to lose except overpaying for a big name knife.

Why REGISTER Your Product?
We back our products with a Lifetime Replacement Guarantee! We've heard it all, email us and we'll take care of you. For example, we had a customer drop their Rapid Fire Flipper...into a camp fire, and we replaced it on the spot!
Our Blade Steels:
We chose AUS8 as it is an upper mid-range steel. It offers a relatively high resistance to rust and corrosion, very easy to sharpen and takes a razor sharp edge. We upgrade our Japanese AUS8 blades by giving our steels cryogenic treatments. Cryo's rapid cooling procedure goes further than just the basic quenching process, this treatment process improves strength and quality which provides a much stronger and longer lasting steel structure. It's an added expense we feel is worth every penny. Take all these factors and combine the "lower" cost of AUS8, it was an easy decision. Bottom line, AUS8 gives us the ability to deliver high quality knives affordably and meet our price point goals for YOU. Used in our Rapid Fire Series, it's an excellent blade steel.
D2 Tool Steel:
We love D2, it's that simple. As long as it's heat treated properly, it's a fantastic blade steel. Our high quality D2 is carefully heat treated with a HRC of 59-60, a truly 'tough as nails' steel that holds an edge even after tons of hard-use, excellent ware and corrosion resistance. D2 is considered a “borderline stainless steel” because it contains 11.5 percent chromium. D2 also has a very high carbon content, 1.5% which lowers corrosion resistance because the carbon “grabs” a lot of D2’s chromium to form chromium carbides. The chromium carbides are good for improving wear resistance, improved wear resistance enhances edge holding. Use it and you'll love it... Used in our Tracker-X fixed blades , our new Rhino Blackout & Badger EDC's.
A killer "Super Steel", M390 is a top shelf blade steel, we used M390 in our ELITE SERIES Black Mamba, we plan to use it in other upcoming designs in collaboration with the WE Knife Company.
Crucible CPM S35VN:
Another popular "Super Steel", S35VN is used in our ELITE SERIES Scorpion EDC knives, we love S35VN and will be using more in the future.
You want tough? We give you K110 blade steel. It's considered a premium D2, higher cost but worth it, if you were dropped on an island full of zombies, a K110 blade would be a great choice. Used in our new 1-Pound Bruiser Alpha-Dog fixed blade and Viper EDC'
