Ten years ago today, Off-Grid Knives launched with a single knife and a straightforward mission: build hard-use blades that are made to be carried, put to work, and pushed without hesitation.
A decade later, that mission has not changed.
About five years back, I pulled six first-run Alpha-Dogs in Bohler K110 and had them Cerakoted, one of a kind, original designs, full tang, coated over the steel and over the G10. I was going to keep them. Or sell them at $500 apiece.
They sat in the vault while Off-Grid grew up around them.
Today the vault opens. All six are being given away. Six winners. Each knife ships with our OGK Custom Leather Alpha Sheath. When they're gone, they're gone.

I launched Off-Grid August 1 with one knife, the Fat Boy, on Amazon. It's still in the lineup today. Every newer design beats it on paper, but you don't retire your firstborn.
November brings the original Rapid Fire. AUS8, semi-serrated, OD green. The series that put Off-Grid on the map: fifteen models and limited editions over the decade, refined by customer feedback, and carried by the US Military, including Explosive Ordnance Disposal, the bomb techs.
My design brief was one sentence. One of my favorite knives ever is the Becker BK2, and I wanted a knife that would eat BK2s for breakfast. The Alpha-Dog is that knife: bomb proof, full tang, the toughest thing in our lineup, and still the Off-Grid classic overbuilt fixed blade.
The Tracker-X is born: the everything outdoor knife, built for camping, survival, food prep, and bushcraft. The same year, our original manufacturer dropped the Black Mamba to chase bigger brands. Out of nowhere, reviewer Nick Shabazz got his hands on one and called me. Not for content, to help. He walked me through what could make the knife better and pointed me to Bestech. The Mamba came back in M390 and titanium, sharper in every way. He probably doesn't remember the call. I never forgot it.
EDC modified tanto folders. Still running, still our top-selling designs.
The Stinger Series launches: XL spear point folders. And then the LockPickingLawyer, with millions of subscribers, testing "slash-resistant" safes on camera, reached for his personal everyday carry. A Black Mamba. It went through like the safes weren't there. The video hit #2 on all of YouTube worldwide, Amazon sold out in a day, the site sold out in minutes, and a year of growth happened in 24 hours.
