For this second-generation fixie, we contoured and heavily chamfered the handles for more comfort, changed the sheath system to the OG Lo-Pro with a thumb release like the Alpha-Dog sheath, and moved from a hollow grind to a compound grind, giving the edge more strength and durability. The design intention was simple: build a knife that can take a beating in the woods.
We used Cryo D2 (HRC 61) full tang steel construction with a lightly tumbled graywash titanium nitride coating, so this fixed blade is ready for work. The ergonomic handle is made with grippy G10 scales and jimping on the top, front, and back. Gloves or no gloves, this knife will not leave your hand. The Kydex sheath comes with our OG Lo-Pro belt attachment and a thumb release, same as the Alpha-Dog sheath, and for scout carry it is compatible with Blade-Tech’s Tek-Lok belt mount. Take it deep in the woods or keep it in the truck as heavy duty backup: the Backcountry Coyote V2 is an excellent addition to your fixed blade collection.

Cryo D2 offers excellent edge retention, and the TiN coating adds excellent corrosion and wear resistance. The blade is lightly tumbled with a graywash look, and the Titanium Nitride coating brings extra toughness and protection against the elements. Good news: you will not need to sharpen for a while, even after tons of hard use.
The Backcountry V2 is a hard-use tool built for any and all harsh environments. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, bushcraft, survival, chopping, feather sticking, wood processing, and any situation that calls for heavy duty backup.
The Backcountry Coyote V2 stays in your hand, gloves or no gloves. Just like our Rapid Fire handles, the Backcountry has a hard-use grip design with grippy scales and milled jimping in the G10 for your thumb and palm. One simple grip, or reverse grip, and you are locked in. G10 is tough, strong, lightweight, and weather resistant. Wet or dry, the Backcountry V2 is ready to tackle whatever you can dish out.

The custom weatherproof Kydex holds the Backcountry with excellent security. No movement, no rattle: your blade is safe and secure on the move. We redesigned the sheath to be more robust and added a thumb push release for quick, easy one-hand deployment. It comes with the popular OG Lo-Pro belt clip system made famous by the Alpha-Dog’s setup. Customers asked for this change, and we made it happen. For scout carry, we suggest picking up a Tek-Lok clip.
